Project Schedule:
The strategic planning process is scheduled to be completed in January of 2008 with the publication of the final strategic plan and a community-wide celebration of the accomplishment.
Phase I (June through September 2006) will focus on producing a report titled “Natick: Our Community Yesterday and Today” which will describe Natick’s history and the current conditions of the community. The report should be available for you to review in October 2006.
Phase II (October through December of 2006) will focus on the future of Natick – developing a set of shared visions and values for the Natick community. The Vision for the Future Weekend on October 27-29 is your chance to have a voice in this future vision. This information will be consolidated in a report “Natick: Our Shared Vision for the Future” available in January.
During Phase III, the elected and appointed Boards in Natick will work with experts to develop a number of Strategic Options – different scenarios for establishing policies or programs that will move the community toward the future vision. The various Strategic Options will be presented in a report “Natick: Our Strategic Options” in April 2007.
Finally, in Phase IV, you get to let us know your preferences and priorities for taking actions that will shape Natick’s future. We will conduct Community Meetings all over town so that you can come and let us know which options should be made the highest priority. The Community Meetings will be backed-up by a scientific-sample survey of the community to confirm the conclusions. The final Strategic Plan will be ready for October Town Meeting 2007.
