More than 500 participate in Natick’s Vision for the Future

The cornerstone of Natick 360 Phase II is the Vision for the Future public input process.  To cast a wide net and gather as much information from the public as possible, Natick 360 has collected information from surveys and from public meetings.

Surveys are available to the public on-line at the Natick 360 website. There are separate surveys for individuals/families, community groups, and businesses.  As of 11/8/06, 177 individual surveys, 20 business surveys, and 29 community group surveys have been received.  We are still accepting input and you can access any of the surveys by clicking here.

On October 27-29, 2006, Natick 360 held the Vision for the Future Weekend at Wilson Middle School. A total of 327 people participated in the event.  You can view an executive summary of the event by clicking here. (PDF format)

Participants at the Visioning Weekend spent 2 hours speaking with skilled facilitators to answer questions including:

• What would you like to preserve here in Natick?

• What are the community’s values that are so important to you in Natick that you would not want to lose?

• What do you value the most about living in Natick?

• If you had one wish for the future of Natick, what would it be?

• Twenty years from now, what will an ideal Natick look like to you?

• What will Natick look like when your children choose a place to live?

Residents had a chance to place a star on a map of Natick showing where they lived.   Residents also had a chance to place a star on a map of Natick showing where they lived.  The map showed that people attending the Visioning Weekend came from all over the community. Residents also had a chance to sign a beautiful print of Natick Center which will be framed as a permanent record of the event. (see larger picture of watercolor)   Residents had a chance to sign a beautiful print of Natick Center

Finally, participants had a chance to contribute to a Natick Timeline – listing any date that residents felt was an important milestone to them.  You can take a look at the Natick Timeline and contribute your own dates.

Next steps will involve analyzing the data from the surveys and weekend participants.
